Well Amelia is a freshman this year at the highschool.  We were off to a rough start with a new aide. Oh whom had no idea how to work with Amelia. She never even talked to her. Well she quit after a month. Now we have a wonderful aide. She works well with Amelia.  Amelia likes going to high school they really keep them busy with community outtings.  She had her neuropsych eval right before school started. That went really well.  She is basically the same I.Q. wise.  Currently Amelia is having some behavioral problems. She is haveing meltdowns. She is still on her same meds. They have recently increased her concerta in hopes that it will resolve the pinching, biting, mood swings.  We are hoping.  She is now 4'10.5" tall. She usually weights around 94 to 100 pounds but just recently for no apparent reason dropped down to 87 pounds.  We are try to increase her calorie intake but when she doesn't want to eat she won't eat. We are looking forward to Christmas. We recently moved into a two story and it has brought up some safety issues which we are currently handling.  I will update more as I can. Merry Christmas to all!

Well Amelia's Freshman year has come and gone. Not too many bumps in the road. She seemed to really enjoy Highschool thanks to her wonderful teacher Mrs. Lade. She went through two one on one aides the school year but other than that she is doing well. Our biggest issue this year was her losing weight. But she is at a stable 80 pounds now. Mrs. Lade has taken another job next year so we will cross our fingers that the next teacher will be wonderful and her next aide will be smart and dedicated to our Amelia.  Summer school starts on Monday so she is looking forward to it. Until next time.
OCTOBER 2011
School has started again. Amelia is now 15 years old and a sophemore in high school.  Her new teacher Mrs. Dunn seems to be a well educated teacher willing to try for her students. Amelia has a new aide but is a familiar face to her. She was a one on one for a student last year that graduated and now she is Amelia's one on one. That seems to be working out well. Amelia is now 5'1" tall and 84 pounds.  She is still having the same sensoring seeking issues as she always will. It seems to be making some frustration for the school faculty.  They are learning to adjust to Amelia's needs.  We recently had x-rays of Amelia's spine and found out she has scoliosis and her spine is 33 degrees off. We are seeking help from a specialist in this area. We will keep you informed as this treatment progresses. Until next time.
